The Triune Council has called for the General Council to be held from April 17th to April 23rd, 2005. This year, the Council will be held on-line in the forum created for that purpose in the members area.

The following Outlines have been established.

1. General Council will be held in a forum created for this purpose.
This will make the entire process longer than it normally would be.

2. General Council will be held for a period of one week Beginning on
April 17th and ending on April 23rd.

3. All members are expected to ‘attend’ by reading/subscribing to the
forum. Items requiring votes, all members are highly encouraged to
vote, if you are a dedicant or an initiate IT IS EXPECTED THAT YOU
VOTE.

4. The agenda will be posted several days prior to April 17th. The
agenda will be strictly enforced and followed. Everyone will get a
chance to speak and voice their opinions and if anyone has something
to add to the agenda list it should during the “open” phase of the
agenda.

5. The General Council is not the time for questions related to your
personal studies, personal problems, or general curriculum questions.
There are mentors and ODU Officers who can field questions of this
type at any time.

6. New Items brought before the ODU body for consideration MUST be
done in the following manner. (A Very much revised Robert’s Rules)
a) Say “I (Your name) would like to present a topic for
consideration by this body, it relates tosada brief 1-3 sentence
synopsis of your idea-no more than that.)

b) You must then wait for the chairman to acknowledge your request,
and nobody may post in response until the chair recognizes the member.

c) Once recognized you may outline your idea, concern, change, etc. etc.

d) If this item requires a vote the chair will ask for a “second”
meaning someone must second the idea before it can proceed to a vote.
Once seconded it will be placed in the voting poll, which will be held
on the 6th day of the Council. If no vote is required the chairman
will ask the querant if they want their topic placed on the record. If
answered affirmative the chairman will instruct the secretary to
record the topic in the record.

7. Everyone has a right to speak and to ask questions when
Items/topics are presented. The Chairman and 2nd Chairman will
strictly moderate this forum to maintain due order and decorum.

8. Any Changes to the By-Laws will be reviewed and those changes
incorporated and posted for review by membership after General
Council. A final vote will take place on the entire By-Laws document
within at least a week following General Council.

Members should log in and check the General Council Forum Daily to be
updated on topics as they are posted and any discussions that are on
the floor.

The Topic agenda will be posted in the forums shortly after that all
members will be enrolled in the General Council Forum.
